In August 2018 researchers from Turkey published the results of their study to assess the effects of yoga on shoulder and arm pain severity in patients with breast cancer. 42 patients were divided into two groups. The patients in Group 1 underwent a 10-week Hatha yoga exercise program with the patients in Group 2 acting as a control group. Results showed that the group receiving yoga had a significant improvement in their pain severity which was maintained at 2.5 months post-treatment.
