In June 2017, 13 scientific societies and 2 patient self-help organizations coordinated by the German Pain Society published their update of guidelines on fibromyalgia following a review of the medical scientific literature. The updated guidelines strongly recommended meditative movement therapies such as qi gong, tai chi and yoga and that acupuncture and weight reduction could be considered in cases of obesity.
