Processed red meat intake appears to increase the risk of congestive obstructive pulmonary disease

In June 2018 researchers from Iran published their review of the medical scientific literature to assess the association between processed red meat intake and risk of congestive obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Five studies involving 289,952 individuals, including 8,338 with congestive obstructive pulmonary disease, aged 27 years and over were included in the review. Results showed that for each 50g/week increase in processed red meat intake there was an 8% increased risk of congestive obstructive pulmonary disease.
