Cannabis appears to reduce pain intensity and pain disability as well as symptoms of anxiety and depression in individuals with chronic pain diagnoses

In August 218 researchers from Italy published the results of their study to assess the effect of cannabis use on symptoms associated with various chronic pain diagnoses. A total of 338 patients with different chronic pain conditions were treated with a cannabis preparation for 12 months in addition to their usual pharmacological medication. Pain medications, pain intensity, pain disability, anxiety and depression were recorded at 1, 3, 6 and 12 months.
