A greater adherence to the Mediterranean diet appears to be associated with a higher percentage of sperm motility

In March 2019 researchers from Spain and the USA published the results of their study to assess the association between the Mediterranean diet and semen quality. A total of 106 individuals were involved in the study. Adherence to the Mediterranean diet and sperm motility was assessed for each individual. Results showed that men with the highest adherence had a higher percentage of total sperm motility when compared to those with the lowest adherence.
