Meditation appears to significantly reduce feelings of anxiety in young adults

In May 2018 researchers from the USA and Australia assessed the effect of a 10-minute bout of brisk walking and/or meditation on feelings of anxiety. 110 individuals, average age 21 years were included in the study. Anxiety symptoms were assessed before and after the 10-minute period. Results showed that meditation with or without walking significantly decreased the feelings of anxiety. However, walking alone did not produce the same effect.
