Exercise may improve hand pain, function and finger joint stiffness in individuals with hand osteoarthritis

In January 2017 researchers from Norway published their review of the scientific literature to assess the effect of exercise in people with hand osteoarthritis. A total of seven studies were included in the review. It was noted that the types of exercises varied across the studies. Results showed that exercise had a small beneficial effect on hand pain, function and finger joint stiffness. However, it should be noted that the evidence was of a low quality.
