Tai Chi, Qigong, and Yoga appear to significantly reduce the severity of depression and anxiety

In August 2018 researchers from China and the USA published their review of the scientific literature to assess whether Tai Chi, Qigong or yoga are effective for treating major depressive disorder.  A total of 15 studies were identified. Results showed that Tai Chi, Qigong and yoga appeared to significantly reduce the severity of both depression and anxiety.  A further analysis revealed that those undertaking Tai Chi, Qigong and yoga also appeared to have a significantly improved response to treatment and higher remission rates when compared to those not undertaking any of these activities.
