Tai chi is beneficial in depression, anxiety and in general stress management

In August 2014 researchers from China published their review of the scientific literature to assess the effect of tai chi on psychological well-being in different populations. 37 clinical trials and 5 studies were included in the review. Results showed that tai chi had a beneficial effect on a range of psychological well-being measures, including depression, anxiety and on general stress management. However, it is noted that the studies had significant methodological limitations and further studies are required to establish the effectiveness of tai chi in improving psychological well-being.
